Hi, my name is Tami Kiser. And I have a typical, not so typical family. Our oldest is a sophomore in college and our youngest is 4. 8 boys, 1 girl, and 1 baby girl in heaven. I had to become organized just to survive. I also felt a need to treat this vocation of wife and mother with the professionalism which it deserves. So I have studied and worked hard, putting in extra hours, just like any other executive climbing the ladder to success. The only differences are that my ladder only comes out when I need to paint or change a lightbulb, and I will only see success as it is defined by me-- as in an entire day with dry, big-boy pants.
And believe me, I am far from perfect. My house right now is nowhere near clean! There is always something awry, even when company is coming over. And that is where another part of my message comes in. Like Martha from the Bible we worry about having our dishes done--when sometimes a "someone" needs attention.
Smart Martha has come as a result of giving shorter home organization talks at conferences and realizing that these only scratched the surface. With an entire morning devoted to these topics, I am not only able to empower women in their own vocations--with many helpful hints, I can also talk about making sure we are doing the most important part of our vocation--being with Jesus...the Jesus we talk to in prayer and the Jesus we see in others, especially our husband and children.
If this sounds like something you'd enjoy, please gather those around you who would also benefit from this and host a seminar. I have tried to make it as easy and affordable as possible so that I could come to meet you!
